Scott Regan
Chief Executive Officer
Scott Regan’s healthcare career spans more than two decades, including 16 years in hospital administration, where he served academic, for-profit, and not-for-profit healthcare institutions. Considered one of the country’s leading thinkers on healthcare strategic planning, brand management, and leadership, Scott is a frequent keynote speaker and regularly serves on a variety of national committees and task forces. In 2002, Scott received the Award for Individual Professional Excellence from the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development of the American Hospital Association.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Scott spent nine years at Memorial Health in Savannah, Georgia, including a five-year stint as executive vice president and chief operating officer. During Scott’s tenure at Memorial Health, he was responsible for hospital operations, marketing, strategic planning, and human resources. He was the principle architect of the organization’s corporate culture initiative, which landed Memorial Health on Fortune’s list of “100 Best Companies to Work For” – four years in a row. Scott, who is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and a certified Lean Sensei, also launched Memorial Health’s Lean Six Sigma quality program, which resulted in the medical center being named by Consumer’s Digest as one of America’s 50 safest hospitals.
Scott has worked with healthcare organizations around the world on strategic issues and strategy development. His impact has been felt throughout the United States at organizations such as Sutter Health (northern California), Presbyterian Health Services (Albuquerque, New Mexico), and LibertyHealth (Jersey City, NJ), as well as in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, and the Dominican Republic. His strategy development initiatives have yielded tremendous results, including a $40 million turnaround in 24 months and a $47 million turnaround in five years.
Scott has won numerous national awards and has served on the boards of national, regional, and state organizations. Since 1991, he has presented workshops and seminars to more than 250 organizations. He also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Georgia Southern University and a Master’s in Health Services Administration from Armstrong Atlantic State University. To further his commitment to revolutionizing strategic planning in healthcare, he merged with The Colvin Group, Health Advisors, in 2011 to establish strategicplanningMD, LLC.
