Area of Expertise: Corporate Culture

Leadership Transformation Program

We will utilize surveys, interviews, and observation to determine opportunities for leadership improvement. All areas are explored, including organizational structure and hierarchy. We then outline an action plan to strengthen leadership. Actions recommended may include coaching, education, communications or accountability training, personnel changes, or others. This engagement can be conducted with open participation of leadership team or as a private evaluation working with a board of directors or senior leadership. However, we will seldom enter into this program without the support of the senior executive officer.

Cultural Transformation Engagement

The culture of an organization is crucial to its success. Given the financial pressures facing health systems over the next five years, the cultures of good organizations will be severely tested and those with poor cultures will experience major strife. In our Cultural Transformation Engagement, we evaluate the strength of the organization’s culture and design a plan to take the good ones stronger and help the weak ones transform to a higher level. Our focus is on people, engagement, and consistency.

Employee Trust Assessment

The Trust Assessment is a component of the Cultural Transformation Program, but can be conducted separately for a leadership team or board to understand whether the team members are engaged for the right reasons. Our experience indicates that employee “trust" is the single-biggest indicator of team member satisfaction, which is key to retention, customer satisfaction, and overall culture. If trust is not at appropriate levels, we will recommend actions to build trust over time.

Top Employer Game Plan

We believe "top employer" status, such as recognized by Fortune magazine, Modern Healthcare, or various state/local agencies, is one barometer of an organization’s culture and team member engagement. Two of our principals have experience taking one organization to Fortune Magazine’s Best 100 Employers in America four years in a row, as a specific organizational strategy. We can assist you in evaluating which such recognitions have valid criteria and are worth pursuing. We can also assist you in developing a plan to "do the right things" that will allow you to become a "best employer."
